Tapestry Galaxy Green – Scandinavian Night Sky
While living in Sweden, Hala was deeply moved by the clarity of the night sky—millions of stars stretching endlessly across the galaxy. This awe-inspiring view became the starting point for Galaxy Green, a design from her 1001 Scandinavian Nights collection.
In this tapestry, Hala blends a simplified Islamic geometric pattern—rooted in her birthplace, Iraq—with the depth and stillness of Nordic nights. Fine, intricate lines form repeating star-like motifs, while a smooth gradient flows across the design, adding depth and visual harmony.
The deep green base creates a calm, grounded feel, reminiscent of Scandinavian forests. Warm accents of bronze-gold, terracotta, and gold add a subtle glow, balancing richness with refinement. The result is a contemporary interpretation of Islamic art, infused with a Scandinavian sense of simplicity and serenity.
